The Gaggle at the Grove

The Gaggle at the Grove Our awesome grounds situated on 50 sections of land of tasty green grass encompassed by local Maryland trees, blossoms and plants invites more than 4,500 understudies, personnel, staff and … .a gaggle of Canadian geese. Over fifty geese have made their home at Shady Grove and some would think they own the spot since they wander around with more strut than Kanye West. Late for class?- Here, let me simply set down in the center of the road. Is this parking area for vehicles? Nope, geese only. The boldness of our feathered companions may have prompted a few snapshots of disappointment once in a while however here at USG we commend decent variety and resilience, human or not. On my strategic better comprehend Branta Canadensis, the types of wild geese generally normal to North America, I found that these glorious animals have similar qualities and characteristics advocated by our understudies and faculty. Amicable, steadfast, mindful, supportive are the best attributes with which a goose is identified. Geese are tender and kind-hearted to different individuals in their gathering, much the same as our understudies nearby we contact each other, create fellowships, and help each other succeed. During flight when one of the individuals falls debilitated or injured a portion of the herd will pull back from development and remain with the victim goose till it recuperates to fly once more. For understudies, our long flight starts toward the start of every semester and at some random day you will discover us cooperating in bunch study rooms in the library where through collaboration we empower ourselves and our colleagues to excel. When geese are in development during flight the gathering blares to urge those in front to keep up speed and when the pioneer tires another means up to take the controlling position. To the current understudies understanding this, how regularly have you driven in a gathering study or task and felt depleted to the point of give up to l ater discover the help of a companion emerging to the event to convey you through? At USG we have constructed a network that doesn't permit anybody to fall through the cracks. Our committed workforce and companions at the Center for Academic Success offer help to understudies out of luck and assist them with arriving at their full potential. We are a gaggle of geese resolved to arrive at our goal, to show up on the platform and gather the awards of a well deserved long flight. By Derek Nehls Likely possibility for our grounds mascot.
